20 engineers complete work in 32 days.
20 engineers 1 day work is 1/32.
1 engineer 1 day work is 1/(32*20)

similarly

Q:
16 engineers complete work in 30 days.
26 engineers 1 day work is 1/30.
1 engineer 1 day work is 1/(30*16)

P/Q = (30*16)/(32*20)
= 3/4

so, p:q is 3:4

Let the capacity of an engineer in P = x units, and in Q = y units.

Working capacity of P = x × 32 × 20

Working capacity of Q = y × 16 × 30

As the total work is same, we equate the above equations.

=> x × 32 × 20 = y × 16 × 30

=> xy = 16 × 30 × 32 × 20 = 34
=>4:3
