A's Speed:B's Speed=rootof(b):rootof(a)
8:x=rootof(10/3):rootof(16/3)
on solving we get,
x=2*rootof(10)
x=2*3.16
x=6.32kmph

speed of the first cycle/speed of the second cycle=root of(time taken by the second cycle/time taken by the first cycle);
s1/s2=root of(t2/t1)
8/X=root of(16/3*3/10)

If two trains (or bodies) start at the same time from points A and B towards each other and after crossing they take a and b sec in reaching B and A respectively, then:
(A's speed) : (B's speed) = (sqrt(b) :sqrt( a))

generally first thing comes in mind as D1= l
means total distance covered by both the cycles should be same but here is different approach........
total time taken by first person from d to r is (t +10/3) hr
total time taken by second person from r to d is (t +16/3) hr
now we have to find the speed of second person by equating the distance individually covered in 't' time is
let say there is total distance be D=x+y
x travell by first and y travell by second in t time.
equation becames
y = 8*(10/3).................1
x=16/3..........................2

and

y=st..............................3
x=8t..............................4
s is the speed of second person
equating 1 , 2 , 3, 4
we have,
s=(3/2)t
st=80/3
equting above equation
we get t^2=160/9
t=(4/3)3.16
s=2*3.16=6.32kmph ans

(64/s2^2)=1.6
s2=6.32

this is a general formula =>
if two cycles (or bodies) start at the same time from points A and B towards each other
and after crossing they take time a sec and b sec in reaching B and A respectively,
then:
(A's speed) : (B's speed) = (sqrt(b) :sqrt( a))
applying this formula we get,
x / 8 = root of { (16/3) divide by (10/3) }
on simplifying
x / 8 = root of (16 by 10)
x = 6.32 Ans

its quite confusing ..can any one elaborate please ..?? as we know that distance = speed* time ..we can find the distance from 8km/hr and 10/3 hrs . and distance from rohtak to delhi is same ( constant).

@suraj kumar- total time is not given here its written that after meeting at a certain point man A took 10/3 hrs and man B took 16/3 hrs
