(1) 32 years

Let the present age of Geet=x and her daughter=y, then
x=8y ---(i) and (x+8)/(y+8)=10/3 or 3x -10y =56 ----(ii)
On substituting x=8y in (ii), we have 3*8y - 10y =56, 14y=56 or y=4
Hence x=8y=8*4= 32

let the present age of her daughter is x and then the Geeta age=8*(x)=>8x
so
after 8 year the age will be 10 : 3
then
(8x + 8)/(x+8)= 10 : 3

we get
x=4

so the present age of geeta is 8*4=32

Answer: 1) 32 years

solution:
present age of geeta and her daughter = 8 : 1
after 8 year = 10 : 3
--------------------------
2 : 2
2 ratio = 8 years
then
1 ratio = 8/2= 4 years
so, the present age of geeta is = 8*4= 32 years.

8-10x : 8-3x
10x : 3x

8-8x=8(8-3x)
14x=56
x=4

10:3
10 * 4=40

Let present age of daughter is = x
and geeta present age is = 8x
8 years from now geeta will be 8x+8 and daughter will be x+8
ratio = 10:3
8x+8/x+8=10:3
24x+24=10x+80
after solving this eq. we will get x=4
so the present age of geeta is 8x
we have x= 4 so 8*4 = 32
Ans = 32
