Let the five consecutive odd numbers be x, x+2, x+4, x+6, x+8 then
Its average=(x+ x+2 + x+4 + x+6 + x+8)/5 = *=(x+8)*84/100
=> (5x +20)/5 = (21x+168)/25
=> 25x+100= 21x+168
=> 4x= 68 or x=17
So the numbers are 17, 19, 21, 23, 25 and sum 17+19= 36

explanation (5x + 20)/5 = .84*(x+8)
on solving x = 17
so sum of first two numbers - 17 + 19 = 36

for a consecutive series with odd number of units the average of units is the midde number....
so in a series of x,x+2,x+4,x+6,x+8.... the average is x+4.....
from the question average of number =84%highest number
so x+4=0.84*(x+8) ---->0.16x=2.72 ----->x=17
number are 17,19,21,23,25
sum of first two numbers=17+19=36
