If initial salary is Rs 100.
After 25% reduction, salary will become Rs 75.

To make it again Rs 100, the salary should be increased by Rs 25.

So % increase required = 100*25/75= 100/3 % = 33 1/3 %

Taking 100 Rs as salary

Salary reduced by 25 % so salary is reduced 100 x 0.25 =25

So present salary is 100-25 = 75 Rs.

To take it Original value

75 Rs = 100 (I take 75 as 100%)
100 Rs =?

100 x 100

75

= 133.33 %

Difference

= 133.33-100 % = 33.33 % = 33 1/3%

25/(100-25)=1/3=33%.

Super Short Cut for this type Ques.
if reduced by n then increase by ( n-1)
25% = 1/4 =1/n
then 1/n-1 = 1/4-1 = 1/3 = 33 1/3 %

Consider ravi's salary is RS:1000/- if it reduced by 25% then it will 750/-
(750 = 1000-((25/100)*1000))

To make it into original salary (750+((x/100)*750)=1000) by solving x = 33 1/3%.

so, option (c)

answer: Assume the salary of ravi be 100 rs
it reduced by 25 percent ,thus it became = 75 rs

now again the percent we need to increase to get 100 rs is
[(100-75)/75] x 100 = 33.3 percent

we hv the short cut method i.e, (x/(100-x))*100
so the answer will be (25/75)*100 i.e, 33.3333

Let the salary of ravi be X. Now let us assume the salary of ravi is 75x. To get back to original salary we need 25x.
Then, 25x/75x*100=33.33

I had a shortcut for this problem
for increase in every (1/n) th part, there must be a decrease in (1/n+1) th part to balance the percentage.
In problem decreased by 25% i.e, (1/4) th so there must be an increase in (1/3) rd part it is 33.33% or 33 1/3

formula for these type of questions:
R/(100-R)*100 where R is the percentage decreased
if in question R is increased percentage, then formula is as follows:
R/(100+R)*100
so using the first formula we get
25/(100-25)*100=33.33%=33 1/3%
