=60/5
=12%

let the cost of articles be 3x and 2x
40%loss in the first one means that sell price of first is 1.8x
30%gain in the second one means that sell price of second is 2.6x

total selling price=(1.8x+2.6x)=4.4x
given cost price = (3x+2x)=5x
so loss= (4.4-5)x= 0.6x
loss percentage= (0.6x/5x)*100=12%

300:200
40% loss on 300 -> 300*(40/100)=>120 loss
30% gain on 200 -> 200*(30/100)=>60 gain
overall loss is 120-60 => 60
total is 500
60 is 12 percent on 500

so the answer is 12%

s.p=60/100(3x)+130/100(2x)=4.4x
loss=0.6x
loss%=0.6/5*100=12%

Let the cost of article 30 and 20
40% Loss in first article 30/100x40=12
30% Loss in Second article 20/100x30=6
So over all 12-6 = Rs.6 loss
Then over all % loss is 6/50x100 = 12 %
