10X-3Y=148---->total marks is 148
X+Y=20----->no of ques is 20
on solving y=4 x=16
=> No. of correct ans is 16

if correct answers=x
total marks=20*10=200
he get 148
so,marks lost (200-148)=52
now,(20-x)*10+(20-x)*3=52
so,x=16 (ans)

16 were correct .w=right answers x be wrong answers so for total to get 148 marks 10w-3x=148 there are 20 questions so 16*10-4*3 gives 148 so 16 is correct.

Let number of correct answers = x
Total Marks given for correct answers = 10 * x
Number of incorrect answers = 20-x
Total Marks given for incorrect answers = 3 * (20-x)
Then,
Marks for Correct - Marks for Incorrect = Marks obtained
That is,
10x - 3(20-x) = 148
On solving,
x = 16

Therefore, Number of correct answers = 16

x*10+(20-x)-3 =148
x=16
