A's speed=6mph ,B's speed=8mph
Let,after x hrs they will meet..
so,the distance traveled by A in x hrs should be same the distance traveled by B in (x-1/2)hrs [as B started journey after 30 min of A]
Thus, 6x=8(x-1/2)[as distance=speed*time]
=>8x-6x=4
=>2x=4
=>x=2
after 2 hrs they will meet so time=(9+2)=11.00a.m

A covers 6 miles in 1 hour.so,at 9.30am it has already covered 3 miles.
suppose, after t hours they will meet.
then, equating the distances covered by them, 6t+3=8t
or, t= 1 hr 30 min.
they will meet at 11.00 am.

A started at 9 a.m and B at 9. 30. So lets take in things in relative to A,since started the race earlier. After 1 hour(i.e at 10 a.m) A will travel 6 m and B will travel 4 m. Again afer half an hour(i.e at 10 30 a.m) A will travel 9 m and B 8m. Finally at 11 a.m (i.e 2 hours from when A have started),both will travel 12m.Hence meeting after 2 hours.

Since A start at 9 AM with 6mph for 1 hr=6m Similarly B at 9.30 AM for 1hr=8m
Initially A and B travel 6m & 8m so they wont meet their timings wil be 10 AM and 10.30 AM
For the second hr A 11 AM b at 11.30 AM but inbetween they wil meet since 12m wil be travelled by both

think this problem as train problem moving in same directions with different speed
....then by formula a-b=8-6=2 ....like this....

Da=Sa*Ta=6*x
Db=Sb*Tb=8*(x-1/2)
distance is at the same point so 6x=8*(x-1/2)
x=2hrs so meeting time is 9:00+2:00 = 11:00 a.m

(x+3)/8 = x/6
x = 9 mile
time = 9/6 = 1hr 30mins
Actual time = 11a.m

Let it take x hrs from 9:30 where they both meet.
Till 9:30 A has already traveled 3 miles .
So in next x hrs A will travel 6x miles and B will travel 8x miles.
so the distance they both travel becomes equal.
Equation-> 3+6x=8x
2x=3
x=1.5hr
hence from 9:30 add 1.5 hr
we get 11 am
