let grandmother age is x yr. at the end of 1994.
rohit's age will be x/4

born year of grandmother =1994-x
and born year of rohit =1994-x/4

sum of born year=1994-x+1994-x/4=3843
x=116
x/4=29
at the end of 2011
rohit's age will be 29+17=46 years.

let rohit was born in the year x
then his age at the end of 1994 is (1994-x)
given that sum of years born by rohit and grandmother is 3843
then grandmother was born in (3843-x)
grandmother age at the end of 1994 is 1994-(3843-x)
given that at the end of 1994 rohit was 1/4th as old as his grandmother
i.e 4(1994-x)=1994-(3843-x)
on ssolving we get x=1965
age at end of 2011 =2011-1965=46

Therefore, 145=R+gm
Now R=1/4gm.so 145=5/4gm.
gm=116,R=29
R at 2011=29+17=46

Rohit =x; Grandm=4x in 1994
So (1994-x)+(1994-4x)=3843 ie given;
x=29 ie rohit's age...after 17 yrs ie 2011 rohit=29+17= 46

let at the end of 1994 grand mother age = x
so rohit age = x/4
so the year in which grand mother born= 1994-x
similarly the year in which rohit was born = 1994-(x/4)
given
(1994-x)+(1994-(x/4))=3843
=>3988-(5x/4)=3843
=>x=116
so age of Rohit at the end of 1994= x/4
=116/4=29
so 2011-1994 = 17
so at the end of 2011 Rohit age = 29+17 = 46
