in first mixture : milk = 5/8 ; water=3/8

in second mixture : milk = 1/3 ; water=2/3

now in new mixture :

milk = (5/8*4/7) + (1/3*3/7) = 1/2
water = (3/8*4/7) + (2/3*3/7) = 1/2

so in new mixture milk : water = 1 : 1

in bottle A portion of milk=5/8 and of water is 3/8 now in bottle b milk=1/3
and water = 2/3
now for the 3 we are taking 4 part of A and 3 part of B so total 7 litre and milk from A = 20/8 and water = 12/8 from B milk =3/3 and water 6/3
now portion of milk in total mixture = 20/8 +3/3=3.5
and of water =12/8 +6/3=3.5 so the ratio equals =1:1

for first case 5/(3+5)=5/8(milk)

for second case 1/(1+2)=1/3(milk)
5/8 1/3

(5/8)-(4/7) (4/7)-(1/3)
=5/21 =3/56


5/21 : 3/56
=40:9

i think composition of water and milk is 23/25.

friends in question it is given that a new mixture is formed by mixing contents of container A and B.
They mixed 4 lt of container a and 3 lit of container b.
so on 4 lt of conatiner a it contained 5/8 milk and in 3lt of container b it contains 1/3 milk.
so total milk is 5/8+1/3=23/24
so ratio of milk and water is 23/24.

water in 1 lt of mixture=1/3
new mixture=4/8
so milk:water=(4/7-1/3):(5/8-4/7)=40:9.
