All the slots are counted in the clockwise direction starting with the slot containing A, and the letter in every fifth slot is removed. How many more slots will have letters left in them immediately after M is removed from its slot?

There will totally be 52 letters out of which ‘m’ is the 39th letter. If we count from ‘A’, in the first round the letters removed will be those positioned in the slots of 5, 10, 15…………. 50 (10 letters) then we have 3, 8, 13…….48(10 letters) then 1, 6, 11…….. 51 (11 letters) then 4, 9, 14…….34 (7 letters) before 39 Total number of letters struck off is 10 + 10 + 11+ 7 = 38 letter before 39, so m is the 39th letter to be removed. So, 13 letters are left in their slots.

Remaining alphabets are 52-39=13

hence answer is 13

its like...
when we write A-Z in order M holds the 13th position
hence while place these alphabets as said..
AaBbCc...Zz M occurs to hold 25th and m holds 26th(i.e 13*2-1 and 13*2)
As M,m is removed from its slot total number of letters to remain =26
and as the 5th consecutive alphabet is vacated ,total alphabet remaining=
26-(5*2)=16

the total alphabets arranged Aa Bb Cc . . . like this the Mth number is 13*2-1=25
in every slot has one capital+one small letters.
so there are only 26 slots filled with letters.26/5 slots removed(remove 3 8 13 18 23)
so remaining slots 26-(5*2)=16

when we consider circular arrangement we will get the answer as 8...

because we can remove the 5th elements in the cyclic manner...if after removing M we will have 8 elements remaining...

if we wont consider cyclic the it will be 13 or 7.. but the correct answer for this question is 8

every letter z removed after 5 slotts and dare z 52 letters den 10 wil b reduced and for removing 2 more letter we will add 10 slootts more to making 15 means removing d leeter at 13th position too which is M.....

ok it says that after every 5 letters the fifth one is removed do doin that you would end up with 14 left
