I started on my bicycle at 7 a.m. to reach a certain place. After going a certain distance, my bicycle went out of order. Consequently, I rested for 35 minutes and came back to my house walking all the way. I reached my house at 1 p.m. If my cycling speed is 10 kmph and my walking speed 1 kmph, then on my bicycle I covered a distance of:

total time=6h-35m=5h25m=5+25/60=65/12h
let x be the distance fro house to place
so x/10 +x/1 =65/12
on solving
x=4.92

Let X is the Distance from house to place,
Total time 7 a.m to 1 p.m =6 hrs
Rested for 35 mins, So total time = 5 hrs+(60-35)min= (5+25)/60
=(300+25)/60
=65/12
(Time=Distance/Speed)
So, 65/12=X/10+X/1
65/12=11X/10
650=132X
X=650/132;
=4.92

total time expenditure is 6 hrs
but he rested for 35 min=7/12hr
so time taken in travelling= 6-7/12=65/12hr
let T is the time taken during cycling
65/12-T is the time taken during walking
so 10*T=1(65/12-T)
=>11T=65/12
=>T=65/12*11
so distance cvrd durng cycling is 10T
i.e 4.92

When dist covered while going and returning is same=x,but speeds are different,
going speed=u=10km/hr
returning speed=v=1km/hr
average speed=2uv/(u+v)=1.81
average speed=(total dist/total time)=2x/5hr25mint
total time=6hr-35mints
so,
x=avg speed*total time=1.81*65/12=4.92km

the total time travel is 6h 35 min if we take from the options the first is correct because if he travel by cycle by half an hour he reached 4.92km means he reached by 7.30h and take 35min rest and again start his journey at 8.05h and he again start his journy by walk with the speed of 1km so he covered the above distance by 1h

Total time is 6 hrs
he rested for 35 min=7/12hr
Time taken in travelling= 6-7/12=65/12hr
T is the time taken during cycling
65/12-T is the time taken during walking
so 10*T=1(65/12-T)
=>11T=65/12
=>T=65/12*11
Distance covered durng cycling is 10T
i.e 4.92

as all the options except option 1 takes time more than 13 hours as his walking speed is 1 km/hr.
but he only spend 6 hrs so ans is 4.92 km

traveltime =6hr-35minutes=5 5/6 hrs
consider distance as x
x=11*35/6=

The man starts journey at 7.00 AM,he starts travel on bicycle in 10 kmph,
so let us consider it is a 30 minutes journey,he reached 5 km so now the time is 7.30am. then he takes rest for 35 minutes, so now the time is 8.05 AM. He returns to their home by walk at the speed of 1 KMPH. so he need to cover 5 KM, on remaining 5 Hours. Now the time is 1.05 PM. So the total distance covered by him is nearly 5KM. total time 7am to 1 pm - 35 mins of rest is 5hr 25 mins let the dist travelled be x so total time is 5+35/60 hrs 67/12 hrs so on equating x/10+x/1=67/12 we get 4.92 km

total time of journey=13.00-7.00=35 min=5 hr 25 min =65/12
x/10+x/1=65/12
11x/10=65/12
x=4 (61/66)
= 4.92
