no. of ways of disributing n different things among r different person=r^n
answer=3^10

I think it should be..
.we can give pencil to 1-student in 10 ways.
2nd student in 9 ways & to 3dr studnt in 8 ways.
so answer is 10*9*8=720

(division of n identical item into r persons = ( n+r-1)C(r-1)
so it will be 12c2 )

its wrong buddy
you can verify also , for instance
take 3 diff. colours lets call them A,B,C i.e. n=3
and distribute them among
person 1 --->p1
person 2 --->p2 , here r=2
p1 p2

A B
B A
B C
C B
A C
C A
here we are getting only 6 ways , but a/c to you it should be 8

Answer verified it will be - 3^10
use r^n for "n" diff. objects to be distributed among "r" diff. person

r^n,r=represents no of person and n represents no of articles then we can distribute n objecs among r differnt person in r^n ways

it should be 2^10+2^10+2^10 which is 3072 ways. this solution holds true if the any student can get any number of objects(including 0)

if any student can receive ny number of pencils,then,one pencil can be given to any of three students..and thus,answer=3^10
