using 1 m thread fold the remaining 99m thread in 1 m folds and on finishing the thread of 99m cut the 2 sides of folded ends of thread and in 2 folds you will get the pieces of thread in 1m

using 1 m thread, fold the remaining 99m thread in 1 m folds and on finishing the thread of 99m cut the 2 sides of folded ends of thread and by 2 cuts you will get the pieces of thread in 1m each.So total 3 cuts are required.
First one for first 1 m piece and other 2 as explained above.Thank You.

if we proceed cytting the thread as (1m,99m), then (1m,98m)... so on.. then 99 cuts are required.

ans is 99....
after 98th cut we will get 98 pieces..
then at 99th cut 2 pieces..totally 100..

for first cut- 1->2 pieces(1,99),2n cut->3 pieces(1,1,98)......98th cut->(99*1m,1)
so ans is 98 cuts

In questions like these there is only one simple Formula--- PIECES= CUTS + 1.
Here,pieces= 100 (since it's a 100m thread and we want pieces of 1m each,so total pieces obtained is 100).
Acc,to the formula-
100=cuts + 1
hence,cuts = 99

thread length=100m
for 1st 1m cutting,remaining=99m
for 2nd 1m cutting,remaining=98m
.
.
for 98th cutting,remaining=2m
for 99th cutting,remaining=1m
so total 99+1=100

let consider 2m length of thread,nd d cut required to get pieces of 1m is 1. nd terfore cut required for 100m length is 99 ....

99 cuts as because in the 99th cut it will get divided into 100 pieces of 1m length
