(marks scored/total marks)*100=(30+20+x)/(50+60+40)*100=60
50+x/150=60
x=40
So he have to score full marks ie 40/40 for scoring 60%

total marks=50+60+40=150
obtained mark=30+20+x=50+x
given (50+x)=150*60/100=90
so x=40

percentage in physics=(20/60)*100=33.33%
percentage in chem=(x/40)*100=5x/2%
and average (60+33.33+5x/2)/3=60
so x=34.66 ans

sol. as follow......bcoz Max. mark of every sub. is not same....so take %tage of particular sub. marks....nd then take avg.
% in history=(30/50)*100=60%
percentage in physics=(20/60)*100=33.33%
percentage in chem=(x/40)*100=5x/2%
and average (60+33.33+5x/2)/3=60
so x=34.66 ans

marks scored=(30+20+x)
total marks =50+60+40 =150

(marks scored/total marks)=.6

marks scord =150*.6 =90

x= 90-30-20=40

given ((50+x)/150)*100=60
then x=90-50=40
value of x is 40

total of 2 subjcts =110 for 3 subjects=150
for history out of 50 he secured 30
for physics out of 60 he secured 20
so total 0f 2 subjects =(50/110)*100 =33.33333333
and remaining percentage is 26.666666666667 inorder to make it 60%
so if we add 40 to the marks i.e 30+20+40=(90/150)*100=60%

for 3 subjects so we neglect the 3
x=40
chemistry marks=40/40
60%
