it is mentioned in ques that least possible no of planks,
first calculate the h.c.f of 42,49,63
i.e 7
then no of pieces =42/7+49/7+63/7=22 ans

c)since the given length
are as 7*6,7*7, 7*9
and the multiple factors are 6,7,9 out of which one is even ,one is odd and one is prime thus not giving us the desired division...
thus equal division is only possible if we divide them by their only common divisor i.e. 1..
so the minimum no.of planks= 9+6+7 =22

maximum size of a plank = h.c.f of 42 49 63=7
now least possible no of planks=42/7 + 49/7 + 63/7 = 6+7+9=22

so H.C.F of pieces of timber: (7*3*2)(7*7)(7*3*3)=7
Least Poosible No.=42/7+49/7+63/7=6+7+9=22

Therefore required no. of plancks = 42/7+49/7+63/7=22

In this quetion we want to find no of least possible planks then 1st we have to find hcf
i.e; hcf of(42,49,63) is 7 then,
no of planks is=42/7+49/7+63/7=22.
