The statement is not clear.
As per my interpretation
One grand father has 3 grand child. Age of Eldest one is 3 times of the youngest child age. Sum of two youngest child age is two years more than that of eldest one age. Find the eldest one age?

Then
if ABC are ages in reducing order
Then A= 9 yrs , B = 8 years, C=3 years
where A = 3c
and
B+C = A+2

Many solutions are possible
wher A=3c and
B= 2*(C+1)
and C>2.
