cost of 1 adult=A
C=1/3 A =>A=3C
4A+5C=85
=> 12C+5C=85
=> 17C= 85
=>C=5 (ans)

then, child's fare= x
also, 4*3x+5*x=85 => 17x=85 => x=5
so, A's fare=15 and C's= 5

cost of adult=y.
given x=y/3 and 4y+5x=85.
sub x=y/3 in 4y+5x=85,
so 4y+5*y/3=85.
after solving 17y=85,y=15.
so x=15/3 =5

Assume cost of child ticket be X and adult ticket be Y

Given child ticket = 1/3 rd of adult ticket

X= 1/3Y therefore Y= 3X

and given Total cost for tickets for 4 adults and 5 children is 85

5X + 4Y = 85

put Y= 3X from the above equation and solve for X

solving we get X = 5

cost of child ticket = Rs 5
