volume of tank=length*width*depth
And volume given=3*6 cu ft.
hence length*width*depth=3*6 cu ft
4*(1/2*4)*depth=3*6 cu ft
depth=(3*6)/ 4*(1/2*4) ft
depth =2.25 ft

mishra ji you are using the formula of are , not of volume which is l*b*h

i think answer is 2.25 is correct

vol=6x3=18 cu ft
vol=len x wid x dep
18=4 x 2 x dep
dep=18/8
=2.25 ft

volume of tank= rate of incoming substance*no. of time to incoming=length*width*height
=> 3*6=4*4/2*x
=18/8

total volume of the tank is 6*3=18cuft.
for a cuboid volume is l*b+b*h+l*h solving depth will be 16/9

4*2*x=18cubic feet
thus depth = 3 ft

As we dont know the actuall shape of the tank..we can assume it to be a cylindrical tank..so in that case volume will be pi*r*r*h
here r=1ft
volume=6*3cu ft/min
so pi*r*r*h=18
h=18/pi viz=5.73.

capacity of tank=6*3cc=18cc ft
now length=4 ft...width=2 ft ...llet depth of tank is x ft
so 18=legth*depth*width
so 18=4*x*2
so x=18/8=9/4=2.25ft

Total time taken to fill in the tank=6mins
Volume covered in 1min=3 cu ft
So volume covered in 6mins=6*3=18 cu ft
Lenth of tank=4ft
Width of tank= 1/2of length=1/2*4=2ft
Height of tank be x
Vol of tank =length*width*height
18=x*4*2
X=9/4=2.25ft
Height of tank is 2.25ft
