a) There are 36 possible combinations.
Favourable combinations are
1.and.5
2..4
3...3
4..2
5..1

so the probability of the sum of the numbers appearing on the top of the two dice being 6 = 5/36

First dice can have any number and probability of getting same no on second dice is 1/6.

a) Prob. of getting the follwing combinations are as under
1,5(prob. is 1/6*1/6=1/36)
2,4(prob. is 1/36)
Similarly there are other combinations such as 3,3 4,2 5,1)
Hence the aggregate prob. that the sum of the nos. appearing on the top of the two dice being=5/36(1/36+1/36+1/36+1/36+1/36)

Just one correction to Answer of b:
Probabiltiy is 6*1/36=6/36 or 1/6

b) The combination must be 1,1 2'2 3'3 4,4 5,5 and 6,6(six combinations)

Probability of getting each combination is 1/6*1/6=1/36
Thus the probability of getting all the combination taken together)=5*1/36=5/36

a) total no of outcomes will be = 36
possible no of outcomes will be as (1,5)(2,4)(3,3)(4,2)(5,10)=5
so the probability will be as =5/36

b) total no of outcomes will be=36
possible no of outcomes according to the question(1,1)(2,2)(3,3)(4,4)(5,5)(6,6)=6
so the probability will be as=6/36=1/6
