999 steps because 1 rupee already he have.. so total 1000

at starting we have 1 rupee. next time it may be 1*1 or 1+1 is the amount need to be added. We need minimum number of steps so that it will be multiplication rather than addition of anumber.
so, 1+(1+1)+(2+2)+(4+4)+....=1000
1+2+4+8+16+.....=1000
it is a geometric series
so we need 9 numbers
