2(pi)R is the formula to be used.
min hand makes 24 rev in a day and hour hand makes 2 rev.
total distance travelled= (2*pi*R*no of rev* 4days)+(2*pi*R*no of rev*4days)
= (2*pi * 4*2*4 )+ (2*pi * 6*24*4)= 3820.176

min hand is longer one. in one day it makes 24 revolutions
hr hand makes 2 revolutions
so, in 4 days sum of distance travelled=4*2*(22/7)*(6*24+4*2)=3821.714cms

shorthand(hr hand)revolves two rounds a day i.e d(sh)=(2*pi*4*2)*4
minute hand revolves 24 rounds a day i.e d(mh)=(2*pi*6*24)*4
total distance=d(sh)+d(mh)=200.96+3617.28=3818.24

short hand-hour hand,long hand-min. hand
in 1 day 24 hours :in 1 day hour hand hv 24 revolutions
in 1 day 24*60 min. hand revolutions
total distance travelled by hr hand in 4 days= 2*pi*4*24*4=768pi
total distance travelled by min hand in 4 days= 2*pi*6*24*60*4=69120pi
sum of distance=768pi +69120pi = 69888pi = 219448.32

short hand makes 1 revolution every 12 hours, or 4 revolutions in 2 days. 4*2pi*4 = 32pi

long hand makes 1 revolution per hour, or 48 in 2 days. 48*2pi*6 = 576pi.

total: 600pi

600*(22/7)

1885.71 ................. fr 2 hrs..


fr 4 hrs... 2*1885.71= 3771.42
