since he is standing in the middle...hence he will take 50 travels individually to the middle...after that the remaining 49 he has to travel...for the remaining 49 travels...he will have complete 48 travels(going to the milestone filling the bucket and then returning empty)....for the last millestone he only need to reach their with a filled bucket...paint it....bt he doesn't need to return....

hence a total of 98 travels...thank you

answer is 51

he hes to start at 50th mile stone
from starting point to 50th he has to come 50 times
here he will go directly(not coming back)to 51
so here he will take 49 times

since per km is a milestone, 100 km will have obviously 100 milestones, but still there are two possibilities:
a) if two extreme milestones(0th and 100th km) are considered then sum is = 101.
b) if extreme milestones are removed then sum is = 99.
Else u consider any other case, then its nt possible to find middle milestone to start with...
Considering case a): we have 50-50 milestones at each side to paint excluding middle, it is assumed he is already there. Hence simple calculation results in (50+50)x2 = 200 times. But question is after painting last milestone, why he will return to the middle milestone. I think answer must be 200-1 = 199.

99....there are 100 milestones out of which at 50th stone he does not hv to travel...so (100-1) times

99,as 100 kms contain 100 milestones he start at 50th & he has to come 50 times and directly he will go 49 times so 50+49=99

there are 100 km. and at every 1 km there is a milestone. so there are total 101 milestone. in this way he has to come 100 times to d middle one, 50 for each side.

98=49+center+50=49 times+0+49 times(never comeback to center when he completed 50)
