A=5/2

(10/3)=B+(1/2)
B=17/6

B-A=0.33

speed for 1st person=2 m/s ,speed for 2nd person=3.33 m/s.for upstream=2+0.5=2.5
for downstream=3.33+0.5=3.83.then diff=3.83-2.5=1.33
so ans=1.33

10/5=A-0.5 ......(1)
10/3=B+0.5 .....(2)
SOLVING (1)&(2)
we get B-A=2.33
ANS:2.33

speed of the person going upstream=(10/5)-0.5=1.5km/hr
" " " " " downstream=(10/3)+0.5=3.83km/hr
so,difference is= 3.83 - 1.5 =2.33 km/hr.

m1-0.5=2 or m1=2.5
m2+0.5=3.33 or m2=2.83
|m1-m2|=0.33
That's not in the options !!!

ans- 1.33
bcoz, here the speed of both the persons u r calculating includes the upstream and downstream speeds as given in the question.. so 1st persons speed = 2km/hr (10/5) and 2nd persons speed = 3.33km/hr(10/3) .. as i have said before in the sum the speed of both the persons u have calculated is not the speed in still water so both of the speeds will be added with the stream speed i.e
1st person =2+0.5=2.5km/hr
2nd person=3.33+0.5=3.83km/hr
therefore difference= 3.83-2.5=1.33 km/hr

Ans is 2.3

speed in upstream is given by 10/5=2

speed in down stream is given by 10/3=3.33

now speed in down stream when river speed v=0.5 is given is u+v =3.33+0.5=3.8

speed in upstream is u-v= 2-0.5=1.5

now diff is 3.8-1.5=2.3

dist=speed*time
10=(A-.5)*5
10=(B+.5)*3
A=12.5/5
B=11.5/3
B-A=4/3=>1.33(D)
