% of total contribution came from the people who gave 40$= 100*1200/(1200+450+300)= 2400/39 =61.53

let total no of people is 100
so 30% people means 30 people contribute $40 so total 1200
45%--------------45 ------------------$10 -------- 450
25% -------------25 ------------------$12 ---------300
so total amount is 1950
so for 30% people who contribute $40 ...total %ge contribution is 1200*100/1950=61.54

For this question what should b the answer?I am getting 61.53% after solving

Answer is option e: 50%
30% of 40 = 12
45% of 20 = 9
25% of 12 = 3
So total contribution = 12+9+3 = 24

Percentage of contribution by people who gave $40 = Their contribution / Total contribution = 12/24 * 100 = 50%
