sp of 40 mangoes - cp of 40 mangoes =sp of 4 mangoes
sp of 36 mangoes= cp of 40 mangoes

suppose cp of each mango is Re1
then, cp of 36 mangoes=36 and sp of 36 mangoes = 40

hence ,gain%=(4*100)/36 =11.11

let sp of 1 mango=1 then sp of 40 mangoes =40
now given sp of 40 mangoes=sp of 4 mangoes +cp of 40 mangoes
cp of 40 mangoes =36
then % profit=4*100/36=11.11

Let the person sells the mango for Rs. 100 each!
Then, for 40mangoes= 40*100=4000

Now, it is told that he gets the cost of 4mangoes extra viz, 40+4=44,
so, CP of 44mangoes=4000
Cp of a mango= 4000/44=100/11
Cp of 40 mangoes= 4000/11

Profit= (4000-4000/11)
So, Profit%= (4000-4000/11)/(4000/11) = 10
As i have taken the SP as 100 so no need to multiply 100 to get the percentage!

40(s-c)=4s
therefore s/c=10/9
ans.(s-c)/c=1/9*100=11.12

Correct answer is 10%

Let the CP of 1 mango be Rs.10.

therefore, CP of 40 mangoes = Rs.400

and SP should have been =Rs.400

but SP of 4 mangoes = Rs.40

so he gets, SP = Rs.440

Profit = SP - CP = 440 - 400 = Rs.40

Profit % = (Profit / CP)*100 = (40/400)*100 = 10 %
