1. x^3-x^2-20x=0
divide by x
x^2-x-20=0
x^2-5x+4x-20=0
x(x-5)+4(x-5)=0
(x-5) and (x+4) are two factor

x-5=0 and x+4=0
x=5 x=-4(neglect it)-------answer

2 3/(x-1)=6/(x+2)
cross multiplication

(x+2)/(x-1)=6/3

x+2+x-1/x+2-x+1=6+3/6-3
(2x+1)/3=9/3
2x+1=9
x=4 ---------------answer
