If a team consists 20 members in which 20% are mathematician then there are 4 mathematicians.

If x mathematicians are hired so that the ratio would become 10/11, then
(4+x)/(20+x) = 10/11
11*(4+x) = 10*(20+x)
44+11x = 200+ 10x
x= 200-44= 156

To check now ratio is (156+4)/20+156 = 160/176 = 10/11

the ans is 156

so there are 4 mathematicians out of 20
and 4+x/20+x=10/11
11*(4+x) = 10*(20+x)
44+11x = 200+ 10x
x= 200-44
x= 156
