since speed = distance / time

since distance is constant speed is inversely proportional to time

by that we can establish the relation

Passenger train: LET length= dP, speed= sP
Freight train: LET length= dF, speed= sF

When running in opposite direction=> Time = (dP+dF)/(sP+sF)
When running in same direction=> Time = (dP+dF)/(sP-sF)

ACCORDING TO QUESTION TIME TAKEN TO CROSS IN SAME DIRECTION IS TWICE THE TIME TAKEN TO CROSS EACH OTHER WHILE RUNNING IN OPPOSITE DIRECTION,

So,=> 2*[(dP+dF)/(sP+sF)] = (dP+dF)/(sP-sF)
=> sP = sF
they are having same direction.
