Explanation:

Let A's 1 day's work = x and B's 1 day's work = y.

Then, x + y = 1 and 16x + 44y = 1.

Let, A's 1 day's work be x and that of B's be y.
Given that, A and B together can finish the work in 30 days.
According to the question, A's and B's 1 day's work=1/30.
So, x+y=1/30........ (1)
Again,
16x+44y=1............(2) [ As A's 16 day's work=16x;B's 44 day's work=44y]
Solving equation (1) and (2) we get,
y=1/60 which is B's 1 day's work.
Therefore, B alone can do it in 60 days.
Hence, Answer is (C.) 60 days.

A+B=30 days. (A=30, B=30 Average =30+30/2 =60/2= 30 days)
A = 16 days
Remaining finish by B=44 days
when B alone complete whole work = 16+44 =60 days
