GIVEN 16% LOSS
SO 84% CP = 2/3 OF SP
84/100 CP = 2/3 OF SP
SOLVING SP/CP=126/100 ==>SO SP=1.26 OF CP SO 26% OF PROFIT

let the price be x
16% loss means it is sold for 84%(84/100)
for (2/3)x => 84x/100
for x = %?
just cross muntiply
% = (84x/100)/(2x/3)= 1.26
therefore 26% profit

Let a certain selling price = x
so, 2/3 of that price = 2x/3
in 16% loss, selling price 84 then buying price 100
selling price 1 then buying price 100/84
selling price 2x/3 then buying price = 100*2x/252 = 0.79365x
therefore, profit = x - 0.79365x = 0.20635x
required(%) = 0.20635x*100/0.79365x=26
Therefore, profit is 26%(ans)

let Sp1 = 2/3 and sp2 = 100-16 = 84
let CP = 100
2/3 Sp1 = 84
Sp1 = 84*3/2 = 126
CP - SP1 = 126 - 100 = 26
