let cost of mangoes be 'm'
10% of 360 = 12m
(10/100) * 360 = 12m
36 = 12m
m=3
cost of 120 mangoes = 120*3 = $360

let the amt of mangoes be M
so that the original cost of 1mangoe = 360/M
new cost of 1 mango after reduction is (360/M)*(90%) = 324/M
at this new cost, John could afford 12 more mangos, so 360-324=36
hence $36 is the new price of 12 additional mangos, thus 1 mango = $3
324 = 36
m=12
m=108
360/108*120=400
