Since the money is to be divided in the ratio of 5 : 3 and also we are going to calculate one-twelfths of that assume the total amount to be divisible by 8 (5+3) as well as 12.
Let us take it as Rs.24.
So as per the ratio 5:3, A should get Rs 15 and B should Rs. 9.
Instead A received one-twelfth extra i.e. Rs. 2 extra.
Thus A received Rs. 17 and B received the remaining Rs.7.
Hence the required ratio = 17 : 7
Hence, option (A).
