Let price of sugar be 100 and consumption be 100
original expenditure=price*quantity
=100*100
=10000
New expenditure=120*75
=9000
decrease in expenditure=[(10000-9000)/10000]*100
=10%

Answer is a)10 I got a trick to to solve the problem like this x+y+(xy/100) And x and y both are sign sensetive. Put here x=+20 And y=- 25 Abd calculate

let us assume the family uses 1kg of sugar which costs 100/-.
then their expenditure is 100/-.
Now they buy 0.75kg for the amount of 120/- per kg. so, The expenditure is 90/-.
% decrease in expenditure is 10%.

Price *consumption =expenditure
20% =1/5
25% =1/4
So that
5*4=20
6*3=18
So {2/20}*100=10%
