now let us assume in 1996 no of students attended= 100
no of students qualified in 1996=60
no of students appeares in year 1995 was 80% of students in year 1996=80
no of students passed is 60% of no of qualify in1996= 36
so pass percentage in the year 1995 is (36/80 )* 100=45%
