one balance is sufficient to weigh two times to find odd coin.

Put 3 coins in each pan of balance.
One of the coins in lighter pan is lighter than other coins.
Put one coin from lighter group in each pan of balance.
The lighter pan is having odd coin.
If pans are equal, then third coin ( left out ) is odd coin.
