its easy from formula
(i) one side only = 6*(N-2n)^2
(ii) two side only = 12*(N-2n)
Where N is cube root of(64)= 4
and n is 1 for equal parts.

So ans will be 24 and 24.

Since all the sides are painted , on each face :

No. of cubes with 1 side painted = no. of middle cubes on each face
=2^3=8
So, total no. of cubes painted one side only are =6*8=48

Similarly , no. of cubes painted 2 sides only =12*2^2=48
