(1-(3/4))(1-(2/3)of distance = 12 km

(1/12) of distance = 12 km

Hence distance = 144 km

If x is total journey , then
x*1/4 *1/3 = 12
x= 12*12= 144 kms

let total distance be X
NOW TRAVELLER COVERS 3/4TH distance by train so 1/4th is covered by other emans which include car and walk together

2/3rd of (X/4) IS X/6 ....THIS DISTANCE IS COVERED BY CAR

Remaining distance is covered by walking = X/4 - X/6 = X/12

we KNOW X/4 = DISTANCE COVERED BY BOTH CAR AND WALKING
X/6 = DISTANCE COVERED BY CAR
X/12= 12
X=144 Ans.

Suppose distance traveled by traveller is x
then,
3x/4 + 2/3*(x-3x/4) +12 = x
11x + 144 =12x
x = 144 kms

12x=11x+144
