No. of squares required on 4 feet side = 4 x 12 / 0.5 = 96 nos.
No. of squares required on 6 feet size = 6 x 12 / 0.5 = 144 nos.

Total no. of squares required for rectangle of 4 feet x 6 feet = 96 x 144 = 13824

1 ft = 12 inch
so 4 ft = 48 inch and 6ft = 72 inch
by length side rectangle can be divided into 144 parts of 1/2 inch each and by breadth it can be divided into 96 parts of 1/2 inch each.. now each square now made is of side 1/2 inch where that square can be placed
so 96*144 = 13824 which is the solution.

Squares needed to cover=(4*12)*(6*12)/[(1/2)*(1/2)]=13824

square area = 1/2 *1/2 =0.25

no of sqaures needed to cover 6 ft wide = (6ft * 12) inches * 2 = 144
no of squares needed to cover 4 ft long= (4ft * 12) inches *2 = 96

total no of squares = 144*96 = 13824

Area of rectangle is 6*4=24 fEet
Square area is 1/4 square inch
So the no.of square is 4 (square for square inch)*144(square inch per square feet) *24 (area of rectangle in square feet)

4ft here 1ft=12 inches 4*12=48 in 4inches here 1/2 inche square needed is 24
6 feet wide so 6*12=72 in72 we need 36 so 24*36=13824

1ft=12inches, dimensions of rectangle become 48inch*72inch = 3456 sq.inches of total area. Small square has area 0.25 sq.inches.
so, 3456/0.25= 13824......ANS.
