Considering election is contested between two candidates
If total number of votes polled= x, then elected Chinki gets x*84/100=0.84x votes
So remaining 0.16x votes will be received by defeated candidate.
Given difference of votes, 0.84x - 0.16x= 476 , 0.68x=476, x=476/0.68=700
