base is common for both of the triangles
area(abd)/area(bdc)=10/20
=>(1/2)*bd*h1)/(1/2*bd*h2)=1/2
=>h1/h2=1/2
h1 and h2 are parallel (as they are perpendicular 2 same line)
from this we can say that,
respective angles are same for both the triangle.
so ,
ad/dc=1/2 (ans)

i) Points ADC are collinear
ii) DB is 5 units long and is perpendicular to AC.

If ABC are in a straight line and DB is perpendicular to ABC, then
AD/DC= sqrt(41/89)

shalu - triangle is not a right triangle so we cannot apply this 1/2 base height
and two diagrams can be made ....

Area of triangle ABD = 2 * Area of Triangle BDC
from this condition,
AD/DC = 1/2
