1/16 in 3 hours
1/8 in 4 hours,as here rate of water filling is doubled
1/4 in 5 hours
1/2 in 6 hours
1 in 7 hours

ans will be 7 hours

1/16 of a tank is filled in 3 hours.
in 3 hr, tank is filled=40
capacity of tank=40*16=640

tank is filling in following manner
10,20,40,80,160,320,640
so, tank will filled in 7 hours.

In 3hr --> 10+20+40=70lit. Total capacity=70*16=1120lit.
remaining-->1120-70=1050lit.
in the next 3hr-->80+160+320=560lit.
remaining=1050-560=490lit.
in the next hr it fill 640lit.
To fill 490lit recquired time=(490/640)*60=46min.
so total 3h+3h+46miin=6hr 46min the tank will full.

1 ------ X
3/(1/16)=X
X=48hrs


or

In 3 hours,
B filled 20x3=60 litres

60 litres=1/16 of tank

capacity of tank= 60x16=960litres

Time taken = 960 divided by 20 which is 48 hours

Since in 3 hrs B filled 1/16 th of tank that is 40
1/16 x =40
x(total)=40*16= 640 litres
time taken
5 hr 160
6 hr 320
7 hr 640
so 7 hrs

1/16 of the tank in 3 hrs
10=1hr
20=2hr
40=3hr
capacity in3 hrs is 40 litres
40*16 total capacity=640 litres
80=4hrs
160=5hrs
320=6hrs
640=7hrs
so the answer will be 7 hours

in 3hrs it fills (1/16th) part
so in 4th hr=2*(1/16)=1/8
5th hr=2*(1/8)=1/4
6th hr=2*(1/4)=1/2
7th hr=2*(1/2)=1
ans:7hrs
