in this ques .. he attempt all question so ...
right ques is -- x
wrong ques is -- 26-x
so ..
5x-(26-x)8=0
13x=208
x=16

RIGHT ans is 16...
Actual marks he got before negating his marks is-- 5*16 =80

5x-8y=26 x is number of right ans and y is wrong ans. for him to get 0 5x=8y this happens when x=8 and y=5 so. marks when he answers right before negative is 40

Given marks = 26
for correct question 5 marks
and for wrong = 8 marks
so try to balance the marks because student scores zero marks
now if he answered 8 correct questions marks are 8*5 =40 and now the wrong questions are 5*8=40 questions answered are 13 now total questions are 26 if we double the above questions 16*5=80 and to balance the marks 10*8=80
therefore actual marks are 80

Now, x*5 -(26-x)*8 = O
x = 16
so 16 Right answers and (26-16)=1O wrong answers.
16*5 - 1O*8 =O

wrong question 26 marks cant possible it should be total no of question=26 so answer=>5(x)-8(26-x)=0 solve x=16 so marks before negation=5x=80

just take LCM of 5 and 8 i.e 40. so 40 marks he had scored before negating.

Let the number of correct answer is x and number of incorrect answer is y
So A.T.Q

5x-8y=0 .........(i)

As it is given that total marks is 26
Then number of question must be asked (26/5)=5.2
So sum of no of correct and incorrect answer will be 5.2
Now we get 2 equation.

5x-8y=0 and
x+y=5.2 or 5x+5y=26 ...........(ii)

Solving above 2 equation wet x=3.2 and y=2

Then actual marks he got before negating is (3.2*5)=16 (Ans)

from given solution total marks obtained in exam is 0
so,5*x-8*(26-x)=0
x=16 16 is the no of rright question
so its marks will be 16*5=80
